A family business built on craft
Dusty Roads Campervans & Conversions is an independent, family-run business with more than 30 years of bespoke furniture-making behind it. Long before we fitted out our first van, we were building one-off cabinetry made to last a lifetime — measured carefully, cut precisely and finished by hand. That experience goes into every camper that leaves our workshop: the same joinery, the same care, the same standards, just on wheels.
Why campervans
A campervan is the most demanding piece of furniture there is: a kitchen, bedroom and living room that has to survive potholes, coastal damp and years of adventures without a rattle. That challenge is exactly why we love the work. We specialise in off-grid-capable conversions — vans with the power, heating and water to let you park up almost anywhere and call it home.
How we work
We keep things personal. From your first phone call to handover day you deal with one point of contact — Michael — so nothing gets lost between an office and the workshop floor. Every build takes shape at Unit D2, Base Business Park in Rendlesham, near Woodbridge, and you’re welcome to visit while your van is on the bench. Most of our customers come from across East Anglia, though plenty travel further for a handcrafted interior.
Meet the workshop
Our unit in Rendlesham is part cabinetmaker’s shop, part vehicle workshop: benches and hand tools on one side, vans at every stage of conversion on the other. It’s where layouts are mocked up, cabinetry is cut and fitted, and electrical systems are installed and tested before any van goes back to its owner. We’re open Monday to Friday, 9:00–17:00, and always happy to show you what’s currently on the bench.
