Consultation

We talk through how you camp, who needs a bed and which canvas and colour options suit your van.

Preparation

Your van is measured and masked up, and the roof aperture is carefully marked out before any cutting begins.

Fitting

We cut the aperture, fit the West Dubbs roof and seal everything thoroughly against the weather.

Handover

We check the roof’s operation and seals with you, then show you how to raise, stow and sleep up top.

Yes — we fit elevating roofs to many makes and models of van, not just VWs. The right roof depends on your exact van, so get in touch and we’ll tell you honestly whether a roof is available for it.
It varies with the roof, the van and whether we’re fitting a roof bed and canvas options at the same time. We’ll confirm a realistic timescale when we quote, so your van is only off the road for as long as it needs to be.
With a roof bed up top and a bed below, a Transporter genuinely sleeps four — our recent T6.1 conversion does exactly that. The roof bed stows away with the roof, so your daytime living space isn’t compromised.
Yes — that’s half the point of an elevating roof: raised, it gives you standing room in the living area, so cooking and getting changed stop being a stoop. Closed, the van keeps its low profile for everyday driving.
A properly fitted elevating roof closes down onto its seals, and we check for water ingress before handover rather than leaving it to the first rainy night. Every roof is fitted, sealed and tested in our own Rendlesham workshop.
